Finding a high-quality solo violin virtual instrument (VST) that sounds realistic without costing a dime is one of the toughest challenges in music production. Strings are notoriously difficult to replicate digitally because a real violinist constantly changes bow pressure, vibrato speed, and finger positions. Many free libraries sound robotic, thin, or synthetic.
First, let’s dismantle the keyword. In marketing terms, “exclusive” usually implies limited availability, unique licensing, or a special feature not found elsewhere. When applied to free VSTs, “exclusive” typically means one of three things:

Solo violin is monophonic. Never play two notes at once. Use legato mode in your DAW (Cubase/Logic users) or simply overlap your MIDI notes by 10-20ms.
While many of these instruments are incredibly high quality, it's important to have realistic expectations. Free libraries often have limitations compared to their expensive commercial counterparts. Always check a plugin's license before using it commercially. Fortunately, most of the libraries mentioned, including the Versilian Community Sample Library (CC0) and Sound Magic's Violin One, explicitly permit royalty-free use in your tracks.
